GreenME Fieldwork Audits in Warsaw

For most, summer break is a walk in the park. For NeuroLandscape, summer was also a walk in the park, but with clipboards and tablets in hand. šŸ˜Ž šŸ“ 🌳

This August saw part of the NeuroLandscape team in Warsaw's urban parks to perform fieldwork audits as part of the GreenME Project funded by Programme Horizon Europe .

We employed two rating systems to evaluate the quality of selected urban green & blue spaces in Poland's capital—NEST and CLM.

NEST (Natural Environment Scoring Tool) is a practical tool to score 47 items across eight domains, including accessibility, recreation facilities, amenities, aesthetics, significant natural features, incivilities, and usability.

CLM (Contemplative Landscape Model) is an evidence-based framework focused on visual quality assessment across seven key components: Landscape Layers, Landform, Biodiversity, Color & Light, Compatibility, Archetypal Elements and Character of Peace and Silence.

A big thank you to our collaborators from Warsaw University of Life Sciences, Agata Cieszewska and Renata Giedych, for helping us to hit the ground running!

And thanks to our team members Agnieszka Olszewska-Guizzo, Ghieth Alkhateeb, Lara Renhe, and Raul Guizzo for your effort and making possible another step forward towards better urban planning for our cities' parks and gardens.
